A punter in Dublin has pulled off a remarkable coup on the Lotto after a very modest investment saw them pocket a five-figure windfall.
The anonymous winner struck a small €0.50 bet in a BOYLE Sports shop in the capital, picking four numbers to be drawn in the EuroMillions Plus draw on Tuesday evening.
They opted for numbers 7, 9, 14 and 22 and faced mammoth odds of 33,000/1 against all four rolling out of the machine. But the odds started to tumble quickly as the draw got underway, and in the blink of an eye, all four had landed, triggering the tasty payout.
The stunning run of fortune allowed the lucky winner to return to the shop to collect a whopping total of €16,500.50. And it wasn’t the only big win in the capital, as another lucky punter landed a profit of €15,000 from a €10 wager on three numbers in the same draw.
