Dortmund v Real Madrid Preview
Dortmund’s Form
Dortmund have had an interesting season falling from a 2nd Bundesliga finish and a Quarter-Final in the DFB-Pokal last season, this year they finished 5th and were knocked out of the same competition at the Round of 16 stages. However, it’s in the Champions League where they have found form finding them a game away from landing their second Champions League and their first since 1997.
Dortmund were landed in Champions League Group F which quickly became dubbed the "Group of Death" with Real Madrid, Milan and Newcastle United. It turned out to be very much that in an extremely competitive group, but Dortmund would win out with their 11-point total coming ahead of PSG, Milan and Newcastle. It was a sign of how dangerous they could be in cup competitions.
At the Round of 16 stage, a 1-1 draw against PSV in Eindhoven and a 2-0 win in the second leg meant they booked their place in the Quarter-Final. Having been handed a tough draw against Atlético a 2-1 first-leg defeat meant they had it all to do in the second leg. However, a brilliant performance meant they won 4-2 on the night and 5-4 on aggregate to book a date with PSG in the Semi-Final.
Dortmund put in two professional displays in their Champions League Semi-Final stage beating PSG at home and away both by 1-0 scorelines to book their place in the final by a 0-2 aggregate score.
Dortmund have overcome the odds throughout the competition and will want to do one last time against Real Madrid.

Real Madrid’s Form
Real have been back to their brilliant best this season winning La Liga with their 95-point total putting them 10 clear of runners-up Barcelona along with a Supercopa de España success means that on Saturday they could win their 3rd trophy of the season. Success Saturday would land them their 24th European Trophy and 15th Champions League title.
Real were rampant winners of Group C with a perfect 6 wins from 6 matches from their group with Napoli, Braga and Union Berlin scoring 16 goals and conceding 7in the process. They overcame Leipzig in the Round of 16 with a 0-1 first-leg win and a 1-1 second-leg draw. They then played out a dramatic tie with Man City in the Quarter-Final after a 4-4 aggregate draw they booked their place in the Semi-Final by 4-3 on penalties.
Real booked their place in the final when they overcame Bayern by a 4-3 aggregate scoreline. The first leg in the Allianz Arena brought a 2-2 draw but Madrid did the job at home with a 2-1 win to reach the final.
Real are huge favourites for Saturday's final and as Champions League “specialists” you’d be foolish to rule them out.

Key Players To Watch
Nico Schlotterbeck -Dortmund
Since signing from Freiburg for a reported €25 million transfer fee back in May 2022 he has been an impressive defensive force at the back after playing a bit part role in his first season he has been a regular for the last two. His defensive aptitude. tackling and passing will be crucial against the poignant attacking threat Real Madrid imposes.
Jude Bellingham – Real Madrid
A key player for club and country Jude Bellingham is already bonafide World Class at 20, his potential as a footballer and what he could achieve is scary. His performances for Real Madrid this season have brought in 23 goals and 12 assists from 41 matches. Having not had a direct goal contribution since the Last 16 vs RB Leipzig he is long overdue one.
Dortmund v Real Madrid Prediction & Best Bet
Prediction: Dortmund 1- 2 Real Madrid
Dortmund deserve their place in the final having initially overcome the “Group of Death” along with some tough knockout ties. Their status as underdogs will make them a dangerous side on Saturday with a free hit.
Real on the other hand have shown themselves to be specialists in knockout football and with victories over Man City and Bayern, there is an argument that their toughest tests are behind them.
Dortmund will be no easy nut to crack especially if Real are not on top of their game, but I still expect the Madrid outfit to be victorious on Saturday.
Best Bet: Real Madrid Win + Under 3.5 Goals @ 6/4
