McGuinness’ Men Clipped Into 3/1 For Sam
Donegal are now odds-on favourites to be crowned National Football League champions following their impressive victory over Mayo .
Jim McGuinness’ side continued their strong early-season form with a comfortable 1-19 to 0-14 win in Letterkenny to maintain their 100% record through three matches and open up a two-point cushion at the head of the Division 1 table.
As the only unbeaten side left in the top tier, the Ulstermen are now hot front-runners for the title according to BOYLE Sports, who cut the leaders into 4/6, while the chances of an All-Ireland title later this year were trimmed into 3/1 (from 7/2)
Kerry are rated Donegal’s main dangers in the league at odds of 10/3, even though the Kingdom surrendered a 12-point advantage when a late rally from Galway rescued a draw for the visitors in Tralee .
Roscommon’s home victory over Armagh has seen them clipped into 16/1 (from 33/1) to bag league honours, while Dublin still face outside odds of 20/1 despite registering their first win of the campaign, with Joe Quigley’s late goal at Croke Park proving crucial over winless Monaghan .
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:
“ Donegal are very much setting the pace with so much early-season momentum behind them, and the victory over Mayo has only strengthened the feeling that they could be the team everyone else is chasing this year.”
