The Man United manager job doesn’t have the same draw as it once did according to Premier League legend Dion Dublin.

Dublin, who played for Man United under Sir Alex Ferguson in the ‘90s, was candid in his assessment of why top managers may hesitate nowadays when approached about the Man United manager job.

The pundit and television presenter also tackled the other big issues at Old Trafford including Marcus Rashford’s recent struggles, Kobbie Mainoo’s rise and names that could be linked with the Man United job if ten Hag is fired.

Man United Job Isn’t As Enticing As It Once Was

After Sir Alex left Manchester United things haven't quite been the same and I think managers offered the job now might take a beat when considering the United job if they look at the bigger picture.

It’s not just about the training ground or the squad, it's about their role and being able to bring in the players they want.

Some managers want to go into a football club and just take charge of everything and oversee everything and some managers don't like it if they can’t do that.

So it's about finding a manager that fits with what United are prepared to allow them the power of.

Erik Ten Hag Will Be in a Precarious Situation if Man United Lose to Coventry City

There will be plenty of pressure on Erik ten Hag if United lose to Coventry.

I've interviewed Erik three times now and I like him as a bloke, he comes across well talking about the club and the team and I think he understands the pressure on him, it’s also going to be severe at Manchester United.

I don’t think Erik ten Hag worries about it, but the pressure of this game against Coventry is huge, absolutely massive.

Whether he gets over the line or not, I don't know. I don’t know if he will get sacked if they lose, but I think he’ll be expecting it if United don’t make the final.

Erik ten Hag Deals With Squad Issues The Right Way

Erik ten Hag has reacted the right way because he takes the person aside and gets it boxed off as soon as possible. He doesn’t hold back when he’s not happy with something.

He doesn't push anything under the carpet, he has the bravery to confront it head on.

Could Unai Emery Be Targeted by Man United or Other Huge Clubs?

Unai Emery can manage anywhere, I think at Arsenal it was just bad timing. He’s gone to Villa a few jobs later and he’s absolutely smashing.

Teams with the stature of Man Utd will always look to see who is impressing but in this case Villa need to secure his future and make sure he gets what he wants at the club.

Reason For Marcus Rashford’s Struggles

I think the biggest thing with Rashford for me from the outside looking in is, we don’t know what's going on with Marcus.

We see what we see on the pitch, and that's all we see. We don't know what's going on behind the scenes with Rashy.

I'm hoping that all it is is a bad season, a blip and that he's not enjoying playing at this level of football at the moment because that can change.

He's in the top five in the world in his position when he's on it and he's happy scoring goals, and winning games.

The Rise of Kobbie Mainoo

I’ve never known a young kid to do what Kobbie Mainoo is doing. To be as confident as him at Manchester United will put all that pressure on him, for England as well.

The worry with Mainoo is that he has to keep his standards high in order to stand out. He has to keep doing what he does and not get sucked into bad habits.

He set himself such a high standard, but if he can keep that going, there's no ceiling for him. He's just an amazing player to watch and Manchester United could start to build a little something around him.

I think he's going to be at Old Trafford for a long time.

Not As Simple As Raiding Other Premier League Clubs For Man United

Man Utd can raid other Premier League clubs for players but it has to be the right fit. You could take Ollie Watkins out of the Villa team and put him in at United but you don’t know if he would be the same player.

It can work, but it’s about the individual.
