Traders reported on Sunday morning that support started to arrive for Dimitri to win the PDC World Championship at the Alexandra Palace next year with those odds cut into 16/1 from 20/1.

Another player that has attracted support is Michael Smith. The 31-year-old from St Helens claimed a third consecutive Pro Tour title this month by winning the Players Championship 16 in Germany making it his 19th PDC title win with the US Darts Masters and Dutch Darts Championship also to boast.

The World Number 4 is now 10/1 from 12/1 in the betting to go one place better and win his first World Championship title.
