Premier League Darts Night 16 Tips
Clayton vs Bunting
JONNY CLAYTON TO BEAT STEPHEN BUNTING @ 6/10
Clayton is assured of finishing in second place but will be keen to erase the memories of last week’s opening 6-0 loss to Luke Littler and rediscover some momentum heading into the play-offs.
The good news is that the Ferret has won three of four previous Premier League meetings with Bunting this season.
Bunting performed with credit in a Players Championship event over the weekend but was also on the wrong end of a whitewash versus Luke Humphries in Birmingham, which made it four early exits from the last five nightly events in this competition.
Price vs van Veen
GERWYN PRICE TO BEAT GIAN VAN VEEN @ 7/10
Price is in a battle with Humphries to finish third in the table and the big incentive there is avoiding Littler in the semis at the O2 Arena in London on finals night.
The Iceman enjoyed a return to form in Birmingham a week ago, beating Michael van Gerwen first up and then seeing off Van Veen 6-4 before falling by the same scoreline to Humphries.
Van Veen actually fared better than Price in several scoring categories but the Welshman was more efficient in terms of checkouts as he went 4-2 up in 2026 Premier League meetings.
Littler vs Rock
LUKE LITTLER TO BEAT JOSH ROCK & HAVE HIGHEST CHECKOUT @ 3/4
Littler has taken control of top spot during a strong second half of the regular season and has gone five nightly events without falling at the first hurdle, whereas Rock has lost four straight quarter-final matches.
Buoyed by securing first place in the play-offs, The Nuke appears to be intent on having a bit of fun by setting up big checkouts, leading the way at the last two events in this department with finishes of 146 and 136.
Rock is resigned to picking up the wooden spoon and that is in part due to a poor checkout rate of just 31.58 per cent over the whole competition.
Humphries vs MVG
LUKE HUMPHRIES TO BEAT MICHAEL VAN GERWEN & HAVE MOST 180s @ 7/5
Defending champion Humphries struggled for much of the league phase but has come good when it matters most, following up runner-up efforts in Aberdeen and Leeds by lifting the trophy in Birmingham.
He said: “I’ve worked incredibly hard, changed to my old points, my old flights, and it worked for me. We’ve all been through those stages, it shows true grit from that position I was in. To get through takes some determination and I’m proud of that.”
Seven-time title holder Van Gerwen is already eliminated after suffering a hat-trick of quarter-final defeats, while Humphries has led the way with most overall maximums on two of those nights.
