Littler vs Price
LUKE LITTLER VS GERWYN PRICE
The Nuke has won his last eight meetings with the Welshman, including six in this season's Premier League, and is the overwhelming 10/11 favourite to retain his crown. Littler was out of sorts in his 6-5 quarter-final win over Josh Rock in Sheffield on Night 16 before being comprehensively beaten 6-1 by Humphries in the last four.
Having been presented with his MBE medal by Prince William at Windsor Castle the day before, Littler admitted in an interview before facing Humphries that a lack of practice was behind his poor form. But the 19-year-old loves the big occasion and gets our support to return to winning ways against Price, who is 5/1 to claim his maiden Premier League title.
The Ice Man, the 2023 finalist, secured his place in the semi-finals courtesy of reaching the final in Night 15, going down to Humphries having beaten Michael van Gerwen and Gian van Veen by the same 6-4 scoreline. These two have hit more than 200 180s between them in the Premier League, with Littler leading the way with 121.
We like 21/10 for Littler to win the match and score the most maximums to kick off our opening Premier League Darts Finals Night predictions .
Clayton vs Humphries
JONNY CLAYTON VS LUKE HUMPHRIES
After a two-year absence from the competition, Clayton has enjoyed a memorable campaign, finishing second to Littler in the league phase. The Ferret lifted the title in 2021 and then suffered heavy back-to-back semi-final losses.
Clayton has won four of his last six meetings with Humphries, including three in this competition, but is the 9/1 outsider to repeat his success of five years ago. It seemed Humphries would miss out on the play-offs after struggling for most of the league phase.
But his maiden victory of the season in Birmingham on Night 15 secured a place at the O2 and he is 12/5 to retain his crown and join Gary Anderson on two Premier League titles, with only Van Gerwen (7) and Phil Taylor (6) having won more.
Cool Hand has really found his form in recent weeks, reaching the final in the last four nights of the league phase, while Clayton had three quarter-final exits during the same period. With that in mind, we cannot ignore the defending champion here and are backing him to win the match, have the highest checkout and most 180s at 11/5.
Littler, Clayton and Price have all achieved a 170 checkout during the tournament - Humphries’ highest being 164 - so 11/8 for a player to reel in the Big Fish completes our Premier League Darts Finals Night predictions.
