Tipperary edge out Kilkenny in second semi-final

Cork are now the red-hot 4/11 favourites with BOYLE Sports to lift the Liam MacCarthy Cup after booking their place in the All-Ireland final with a dominant display against Dublin on Saturday.

A total haul of 7-26 saw the Rebels run out 20-point winners over the Boys in Blue and punters are growing in confidence that a first All-Ireland SHC trophy in 20 years is on the horizon for Pat Ryan’s side.

Already heavy favourites before their semi-final clash at 8/11, Cork have seen their odds cut into 4/11 as the competition hurtles towards its conclusion, with Tipperary set to take to the pitch as the 2/1 underdogs on July 20th.

Scoreboard Controversy

The Premier County saw off Kilkenny in a protracted duel at HQ on Sunday that has since been marred by a score controversy after Noel McGrath’s 70th minute effort was incorrectly added as a point on the scoreboard, giving Tipperary a three-point lead.

While Liam Cahill’s side emerged as the victors from Sunday’s gruelling contest, the oddsmakers and punters predict an uphill battle if they’re to derail Cork’s drive for the Liam MacCarthy.

Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:

“Tipperary’s win over Kilkenny is capturing all the headlines but it was Cork’s demolition of Dublin that has caught the eye of punters, and they’re giving the Rebels a confident vote to end their All-Ireland drought.”
