Odds Revealed As Henderson Star Gets Green Light

All eyes will be on Southwell on Friday as hurdling superstar Constitution Hill makes his highly anticipated switch to the Flat, with BOYLE Sports pricing Nicky Henderson’s star as a narrow favourite.

The former Champion Hurdler was confirmed as a runner on Wednesday morning after four horses above him in the priority list were not declared, paving the way for an intriguing Flat debut in what promises to be one of the most talked-about all-weather races of the season.

Oisin Murphy takes the ride on Constitution Hill, who heads the betting at 13/8 with BOYLE Sports, though the market suggests he faces a serious test on unfamiliar terrain.

Flat trainer Kevin Philippart De Foy saddles Square Necker, the 15/8 second favourite, while Ryan Moore is booked for Willie Mullins’ challenger Daddy Long Legs, priced at 10/3. Dan Skelton’s Gambino, who has already raced twice on the Flat at Gowran Park for Noel Meade, is a 6/1 shot.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:

“Friday’s race at Southwell will be the all-weather contest everyone has their eyes on. We rarely see this level of fervent interest in a race of this nature, but Constitution Hill is no ordinary runner and it will be fascinating to see how the Cheltenham markets shift come the finish line.”
