Coming Up Roses: Cummins Clear in Glitterball Race

Laois Lass Odds-On To win Dancing With The Stars

Katelyn Cummins is now odds-on to claim the glitterball trophy as Dancing with the Stars enters its final stretch this weekend, with the remaining contestants preparing to ‘dance through the decades.’

The Rose of Tralee winner is one of five dancers vying for a place in the grand finale in this weekend’s semi-final, which features one of the toughest tests to date including an additional special performance where they will be joined by a second professional dancer.

The Laois Rose is expected to thrive under the added pressure and has been backed into 4/6 favourite with BOYLE Sports to be crowned the winner, while her main challenger appears to be Eric Roberts, who is rated the most likely to steal the glory as 15/8 second favourite.

Tolu Makay An Outside Contender

Singer-songwriter Tolu Makay, who bagged a perfect score of 40 for her Charleston last week only to find herself in the dance-off, remains the only other contestant attracting any support in the betting, although she is still a distant 8/1 third favourite.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:

“The dancers are going through the decades this weekend, but punters seem to think they already know where the story ends. Katelyn continues to lead the way heading into the semi-final, and the betting suggests the glitterball is going to the Rose of Tralee.”
