Manchester City have closed in on the Champions League in the outright betting after being handed a clash against Schalke in the Last 16 draw. However, the other remaining English clubs Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool felt the sting of a tough draw.
City are now 11/4 market leaders having shortened in from 7/4 off the back of the draw as they are expected to progress to the quarter-finals stages with ease.
Premier League leaders, Liverpool’s Champions League hopes were dealt a tough blow as they were drawn against German giants Bayern Munich in the last 16. However, as they maintain an unbeaten run in the Premier league they have held out as 9/1 for the Champions league title with Bayern drifting to 12/1 from 10/1.
It was more bad news for Man United, who suffered a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday after they were pulled out against French Champions PSG. The Red Devils are firm 40/1 outsiders with PSG available at 7/1 in the outright.
Defending champions Real Madrid were drawn against Ajax and the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane sees them remain at their 10/1 price.
