Turners Novices' Hurdle Tips & Preview

Robbie Power

Final Demand is a very nice horse, very likeable. He jumps, gallops. I think coming back to 2 miles and 5 furlongs would suit him. He seems to have a very good cruising speed.

The New Lion was very, very impressive when he won the Challow in Newbury but I don’t know how strong that race was, the 2nd horse was rated 126, it doesn’t look like a strong race. I think Final Demand is more solid in the first race on day 2 than Kopek Des Bordes is in the first race on day 1.

Robbie Power’s Turners Novices' Hurdle Tip: Final Demand – 13/8

Final Demand – 13/8

David Casey

Final Demand is very, very relaxed and does it all very easy. I thought he was hugely impressive in Leopardstown and I think he’s a good horse. I would have said eventually  he’d be more of a Gold Cup horse if you were to put the gun to my head in a couple years time. I think he’s a very good horse.

I think The New Lion is a good horse. The Yellow Clay was impressive the last day but I thought he was indifferent the time before so I’m just not 100% certain about him. Potters Charm after getting beaten the last day he’s just not for me.

David Casey’s Turners Novices’ Hurdle Tip: Kawaboomga (Later Declared a NR)

Johnny Dineen

Final Demand won very easy at Leopardstown. Now, it wasn’t a brilliant race by any stretch of the imagination but there’s no doubt he’s a good horse because it was only his second run in public.

The New Lion ’s form, as Robbie said, you can definitely pick holes in his form but he has looked visually very impressive. Saying that, he’s never got down and dirty in a race and surely he’s going to have to get down and dirty in a race like this to win. He’s a real cruisy, sexy kind of a horse. Whether he’ll have the guts for the other two horses I don’t know.

Johnny Dineen’s Turners Novices’ Hurdle Tip: Kawaboomga (Later Declared a NR)

John ‘Shark’ Hanlon

I think Final Demand and The New Lion look very good. JP [McManus] gave a few quid for him, I think he gave a million for him, and you don’t usually give away that kind of money for the craic. I thought Final Demand has looked very good in his two runs. He’s the one there that they have to beat and I wouldn’t go away from him.

John ‘Shark’ Hanlon’s Turners Novices’ Hurdle Tip: Final Demand – 13/8

Final Demand – 13/8

Bryan Cooper

Final Demand wins. I think he’s going to win and win well. Maybe if he runs, James's Gate, Martin Brassil’s horse, I don’t know if he’ll run, he’s in the Coral Cup as well. He’s a very shrewd trainer. He has a fair engine, I rode him work when he was in Willie Mullins’ yard. I actually tipped him up at a few previews. If he’s declared I wouldn’t rule out a few people having a few quid each way on him.

Bryan Cooper’s Turners Novices’ Hurdle Tip: James's Gate – 10/1

James's Gate – 10/1
