Robbie Power thinks the Willie Mullins trained Facile Vega is going to be hard to beat in the Champion Bumper but his stablemate Redemption Day represents value. He also thinks Chacun Pour Soi is a major player in the Champion Chase. Take a look below.
Champion Bumper
He said: “If Facile Vega can produce his mother’s form at Cheltenham, then he is going to be very hard to beat. I have been going racing a long time and I have never seen a bumper performance like it.
“I was blown away by American Mike when I saw him in at Navan before Christmas and I didn’t think we would see a better bumper horse this season and we just have. Facile Vega was so impressive. You can’t pick any holes in the form.
LATEST ODDS ON CHAMPION BUMPER ARE HERE
"The way he did it would just blow you away and he will be very hard to bet in the Champion Bumper at 10/11 in the race betting.
“His biggest danger is American Mike but at the same time Patrick Mullins said he still didn’t think there was much between Facile Vega and Redemption Day and if that’s the case then Redemption Day has to be respected as well. He represents value in the betting because of the performance we saw from Facil Vega.
Champion Chase
“Chacun Pour Soi is a horse that has an awful lot of ability. If he can produce anything like his Punchestown or Leopardstown form in a Champion Chase then he is going to be a massive player in the race.
“What way they ride him a Champion Chase is going to be very interesting. The Champion Chase is the only race that Willie Mullins hasn’t won at the Cheltenham Festival so he is definitely going to throw both his bullets at it. There is no doubt about that.

“There two very good horses and I’m sure the Closutton team will be thinking from now until Cheltenham how do we beat Shishkin. They will be going through the tactics of the race and looking at the best way to try and get him beaten.
"I think Chacun is a big big player in this with his odds of 5/1.
