Check out our Cheltenham Day 3 tips from BoyleSports Horse Racing Ambassador Bryan Cooper ahead of the Festival’s penultimate day of action.

The feature race on day 3 at Cheltenham is the 15:20 Ryanair Chase. That is followed by another Grade 1 at 16:00 in the Stayers’ Hurdle. Bryan has given us his predictions for the two big races plus his preview of the Pertemps Network Final at 14:40 which includes his Cheltenham Festival day 3 NAP.

Cheltenham Day 3 Tips From Bryan Cooper

Ryanair Chase Tips & Preview – 15:20

Fact To File (5/4) is a short-priced favourite here. Obviously, he has overturned Galopin Des Champs in the John Durkan [at Punchestown in November] but I just haven’t been overly impressed with him since. He hasn’t seemed to come forward since Punchestown.

I like Il Est Francais (3/1). I think it’s a race that really suits front runners and I think he could jump them into the ground. I know he has a few question marks, he has bled before. You start in the middle [of the course], you jump 3 fences, he could be 10 or 12 lengths clear by the time we even turn down the straight the first time.

It might be a case of ‘come catch me if you can’ and he could get too much of a lead on them. Allaho did it before, Un de Sceaux did it, so that’s who I fancy and I’m looking forward to watching it.

I’m going to go against the favourite Teahupoo (6/4) in this race. I just think Home By The Lee (6/1) has 4 or 5 lengths to make up on him from last year and I can see him doing that. He’s in a great frame of mind this year.

Joseph O’Brien’s horses are flying and I think Joseph could have a very good week here in Cheltenham with his small select stable of runners and I like Home By The Lee. I’d say the ground is going to dry out plenty, and that’ll suit him. I think he’ll make up the ground on Teahupoo. I just don’t think there’ll be enough pace in the race this year for Teahupoo, and that could be the beating of him.

D Art D Art (10/1) is in great form, I rode him out this morning myself. He nearly knocked down a couple of people, he’s bucking and kicking so he’s in great form. It’s very hard to win a race in Cheltenham but he’s coming here with a great chance.

He’s a lovely weight and we have a great young lad riding him in Tiernan Power Roche who’s claiming 5 lbs. He’ll be ridden to run well, I can see him definitely being involved and if he’s outside of the first 4 I’ll be very disappointed. I’m going to give him as a good each-way NAP for day 3.

If he wins it’ll be great for the owner and I think he has a solid chance. Especially after sitting on him this morning, I think he’s going to come alive over here.

Bryan Cooper’s Pertemps Network Final Tip: D Art D Art – 10/1

D Art D Art – 10/1
