Already a winner at the Festival in the Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle earlier this year, the six-year-old went clear after the final obstacle under jockey JJ Slevin to make it two from two over fences this season.
The son of Doyen has since shortened into 10/1 from 20/1 in the betting for the Arkle with BoyleSports, who also trimmed him into 10/1 from 20/1 for the Turners Novices’ Chase with trainer Joseph O’Brien saying afterwards he was unsure on his eventual target.
Scriptwriter earned an introductory quote of 16/1 for the Triumph Hurdle when winning the opener on the Cheltenham card, while Three Stripe Life justified odds of 1/2 in the Beginners’ Chase at Naas to move into second favourite for both the Turners Novices’ Chase (11/2 from 7/1) and the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase (8/1 from 9/1).

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “Banbridge is showing quite a like for Cheltenham and with support on the rise for another Festival win, we’ve had to make him 10/1 from 20/1 in both the Arkle and the Turners. He appears to have taken to the larger obstacles like a duck to water and it’s safe to say antepost punters are suitably impressed.”
