Saturday’s horse racing results were full of Cheltenham clues especially Willie Mullins’ Allaho who ran away from his rivals at Fairyhouse to land the opener by 21 lengths.
Riden to victory by Paul Townend, this 6-year old star, owned by Cheveley Park Stud, made every inch of the 2m5½ beginners chase. BoyleSports reacted by trimming him into 10/1 from 16/1 for the RSA and 12/1 from 25/1 for the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham festival in March.
On the same card at the Co Meath venue, Rachael Blackmore was back in the winners’ enclosure with Minella Melody for trainer Henry De Bromhead as she landed the Grade Three Solerina Mares Novice Hurdle by 2½ lengths to the 11/4 favourite Colreevy.
This race was won by the brilliant Honeysuckle last year and is the 2/1 second favourite for the Mares Hurdle.
Robbie ‘Puppy’ Power continued his purple patch on Trials Day at Cheltenham with the talented Harry Senior who obliged at 4/1 for trainer Colin Tizzard in the same colours of Native River. Harry Senior has been introduced to the Ballymore at 12/1 after beating the 6/4 favourite King Roland who is unchanged in the market at 16/1.
