We have a Chelsea v Brentford prediction for you plus all the odds as we preview this Saturday early kick-off in the Premier League.
Chelsea are now unbeaten in their last three Premier League games including a 2-2 draw against Arsenal last time out. They will be hoping to continue with that momentum as they welcome a Brentford side that will be high in confidence after beating Burnley 3-0 in their last outing.

The Blues have had an interesting start to their season. They opened their account with a 1-1 draw in Stamford Bridge against Liverpool. That was followed by four points from their next five league games where they lost 3-1 against West Ham, 0-1 against Nottingham Forest and 0-1 against Aston Villa.
Those results had plenty speculating that Pochettino could find himself getting the sack early in the season. However, the ship has steadied since with two league victories in their last three games 0-2 against Fulham and 1-4 against Burnley.
Last Saturday it looked like Chelsea were on course for their third successive League win after going 2-0 up in the North West London Derby inside 48 minutes after goals from Palmer and Mudryk. However, Arsenal fought back to claim a draw after goals from Rice in the 77th minute and Trossard in the 84th minute meant that honours were even at the full time whistle.
For me, the most revealing statistic (Per UnderStat) for Chelsea is that, despite their slow start to the season, they are 4th on the Expected Points table. This arguably shows that the Pochettino project is in full swing and we can expect Chelsea to rise further up the table sooner rather than later.
Since then things have gotten worse for Brentford. They fell to a 3-1 loss to Everton before drawing against Nottingham Forest. They would then agonisingly squander a 1-0 stoppage time lead against Manchester United following heroics from Scott McTominay
On the bright side, they did get back to winning ways last time out with a 3-0 victory against Burnley.
It should be noted though that Brentford is a club which is modelled on “Choosing Wisely '' by making smart decisions. They work off advanced statistics like the Expected Goals stat which is one of the metrics they judge long-term success on.
It’s interesting to note that, like Chelsea, their Expected Points have them substantially higher than their actual position on the table. They are 7th on the Expected Points table compared to 14th in reality.

Chelsea 1-4 Brentford | 2 April 2022 Premier League
Brentford 0-2 Chelsea | 22 December 2021 EFL Cup
Brentford 0-1 Chelsea | 16 October 2021 Premier League
This is a fascinating tie with the newest “Poch Project” being pitted against the well-established Moneyball model of Brentford which has seen them rise up the leagues.
Chelsea will be disappointed after squandering their 2-0 lead against Arsenal on Saturday Night. However, they should gain some sort of solace knowing that their performances on the whole look have been coming together in recent weeks.
Brentford will be high in confidence after their victory against Burnley. Both sides have had issues with finishing their chances this season, but I can see that changing in this one with Chelsea eventually winning out.
