Champions League Predictions – Play-Off Leg 2

Atletico Madrid vs Club Brugge

Atletico Madrid to beat Club Brugge and BTTS @ 7/4

Atletico missed the chance to put Club Brugge under the cosh in Belgium, surrendering leads of 2-0 and 3-2 to draw 3-3, but the Rojiblancos should finish the job in the Spanish capital.

Atleti have not been beaten at home in a Champions League knockout tie since 1997 while Diego Simeone’s men - runners-up in 2014 and 2016 - have kept 13 clean sheets in their last 17 knockout games on home soil.

Club Brugge head to Spain in decent form, though, losing just once in eight matches during a run which has included two convincing European wins and that battling draw with Atletico.

Nicolo Tresoldi is also enjoying a hot streak, the Germany Under-21 international having scored in his last four matches.

Inter Milan vs Bodo/Glimt

Bodo/Glimt to qualify in normal time @ 6/5

Inter Milan’s chances of reaching a third Champions League final in four years look to be hanging by a thread as they trail 3-1 against Bodo/Glimt, but there is hope for Cristian Chivu’s side.

The Nerazzurri have won seven of their eight games either side of that loss in Norway while their defence has kept 18 clean sheets already this season.

That could be key against a Bodo team who have scored at least twice in eight of their 11 Champions League fixtures so far, including against Manchester City , Atletico Madrid , Juventus and Borussia Dortmund .

Bodo, who snatched 23rd place in the league phase after winning their last two games, are seeking to become the first Norwegian team to win a knockout tie in the Champions League proper.

Bayer Leverkusen vs Olympiacos

Bayer Leverkusen to beat Olympiacos & over 3.5 goals in total @ 7/2

Bayer Leverkusen have one foot in the last 16 ahead of the visit of Olympiacos after earning a 2-0 first-leg lead in Piraeus thanks to Patrik Schick’s quickfire second-half brace.

The 2024 German champions have won their last four domestic home matches without conceding a goal while their European form at the BayArena is similarly impressive, losing only twice in 18 games.

Olympiacos defeated Leverkusen 2-0 at home during the league phase last month but that was the Greek champions’ only victory in their last 15 games against German opposition, with 13 ending in defeat, and they have a mountain to climb.

Atalanta vs Borussia Dortmund

Atalanta to beat Borussia Dortmund & over 2.5 goals in total @ 9/4

Dortmund travel to Italy boasting a 2-0 advantage over Atalanta and are firmly on course for a last-16 showdown with Arsenal or domestic rivals Bayern Munich .

Dortmund have won all 10 of their European ties in which they have held a two-goal lead from the first leg and in Serhou Guirassy boast one of the tournament’s ace marksmen, with 19 goals in his first 27 Champions League appearances.

Atalanta’s hopes rest on continuing their impressive form at the New Balance Arena . The Bergamo outfit have won their last six home matches in Serie A, including a 2-1 triumph over champions Napoli on Sunday, although Spanish side Athletic Bilbao claimed a 3-2 win there last month.

Juventus vs Galatasaray

Juventus to beat Galatasaray and BTTS @ 15/8

Juventus are in serious danger of suffering a sixth successive defeat in Champions League knockout ties after being hammered 5-2 by Galatasaray in Istanbul.

Gala also have a good record against Italian teams down the years but their away form gives Juve some cause for hope as the two teams vie for a last-16 clash against Liverpool or Spurs.

The Turkish giants have only won once in their last 13 away games in European competition - losing the last five, including a 5-1 defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt in September - so if Juve can find their shooting boots, it could get interesting in Turin.
