Arsenal are 7/2 favourites in the Champions League outright odds with BOYLE Sports in their quest for a maiden title after making a barnstorming start to their campaign. The Gunners lost to eventual winners Paris St Germain in last season’s semi-finals but look well-equipped to go all the way this time.
They finished three points clear at the top of the league phase after winning all eight matches - the first team to do so while scoring the most goals (23) and conceding the fewest (four). Arsenal’s formidable defence has kept five clean sheets, while at the other end of the pitch, Gabriel Martinelli is proving a hugely effective weapon in Europe. The Brazil winger, despite not being an automatic first choice for Mikel Arteta, scored in six of Arsenal’s games and only star trio Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane and Erling Haaland have netted more in this season's competition.
Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich finished second in the league stage with 21 points, three behind Arsenal, and are 9/2 second-favourites. The six-time European champions have won 27 of 32 matches this season as they too chase honours on all fronts and have lost just twice, one of which was at Arsenal.
Vincent Kompany’s side could face an all-German clash in the last 16 with Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen possible rivals, although Bayern will fancy their chances against any team, especially with Kane in flying form again.
Potential Ties
Would Be Winners Face Major Last 16 Tests
Behind the top two, Manchester City and Barcelona are 7/1 to be crowned champions of Europe. Barca won their last three league-stage matches to snatch fifth place, but they could end up having the toughest of all last-16 ties, with holders PSG one of four possible opponents for the Spanish giants.
City must also brace themselves for a potentially huge challenge next up, despite also squeezing into the top eight. They will meet either 15-time record winners Real Madrid or 2023 and 2025 runners-up Inter Milan if those European superpowers get through their play-off matches against Benfica and Bodo/Glimt, respectively.
Best Of The Rest
Best Of The Rest
PSG, the 5/1 pre-tournament favourites, have drifted to 8/1 to become the first team since 2018 to win back-to-back titles after dropping out of the automatic qualification spots following a dismal run which brought them just five points from their last five games.
That left Luis Enrique's men in 11th spot and means they will have to take the long route for the second successive season and will face fellow Ligue 1 side Monaco in the play-off round. However, PSG can take confidence from last year when they hammered another French team at this same stage, beating Brest 10-0 on aggregate, before going on to win their first Champions League.
Of the other main European contenders, 2019 winners Liverpool are 10/1, Real Madrid are 12/1, while Chelsea are 18/1 and Inter 25/1.
Europa League winners Spurs have been cut to 28/1 to also win the Champions League after beating their domestic struggles to finish fourth in the league phase.
