Following their 1-22 to 1-18 victory over Galway to claim a record 36th All Ireland SHC title at Croke Park on Sunday, Kilkenny have been installed at 7/4 to retain the trophy in 2016.

Tipperary are Kilkenny’s nearest rivals in the betting at 10/3 to win a 27th title whilst Waterford are next in the betting at 11/2.

Beaten finalists, Galway can be backed at 8/1 to go one better next year whilst Clare are also priced at 8/1 with Cork on offer at 10/1. Dublin can be backed at 16/1 to win a 7th title having last won the trophy in 1938. Wexford can be backed at 50/1 to end a 20 year drought in 2016 having last lifted the trophy back in 1996.

Kilkenny certainly turned around in the second half to record a four point victory over Galway and no doubt the celebrations will continue for the coming months as the Liam McCarthy trophy heads across the Nore River for a record 36th time.

The Cats are now 7/4 to retain the trophy in 2016.""

Many punters have the first leg of their GAA double landed and now wait on either Dublin or Kerry to seal the deal for them in the All Ireland SFC Football Final on September 20th.
