Bryan Robson

Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has praised the club's defensive depth, highlights the importance of Casemiro outlining some of the name that could replace him come the summer and claimed that Bruno Fernandes can emulate his success at the club!

Robson also spoke about the club's attacking quality whether Sesko and Mbuemo can partner one another, if Sesko is being used correctly and name checks two legendary teammate who the big attacker can learn from to be a success at Old Trafford.

Man Utd Defence

United’s Defensive Depth

The way Manchester United are playing at the moment, I think there’s real potential for development in the squad because Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro are going to improve as centre-halves.

You've got the experience of Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez , so we've got really good players in certain parts of the team, and really, it's up to Michael and United as a club how they're going to build on that. If they just get a few more, better players in to improve them again, then you go that one step further again.

Man Utd Midfield

Casemiro's Departure

Can Manchester United win the Premier League in less than 10 years if they stick with Michael Carrick ? I’m not going to argue with Sir Alex . The gaffer’s right. But it all comes down to your signings. You need to have the money to pay for the players, and your transfers have got to be right.

Manchester United need a midfield player, especially if Casemiro leaves the club, but I’d try and talk Casemiro into staying now that we’re starting to see the team playing well. The confidence is there. I’d like to ask Casemiro to stay, and then you only have to get one more player in because that’s the thing, you've only got the money to spend on one top player who you think can improve the team.

Midfielder Shortlist

Who is the midfielder Manchester United can sign this summer to improve their team? You can band names around, but I don’t think you’d get Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United because he’s one of their top players. You’ve got Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton because of the clubs that they’re at. Whether they’ve got any get-out clauses, and how much you’re going to have to pay to sign them, you’ve got to weigh that up.

I think Wharton and Anderson are top players. They’ve proven it because they’ve both broken into the England squad. You're going to have to look for that type of player, but you know that that type of player is not going to come cheap.

Bruno Can Emulate Me!

Bruno Fernandes is a top player. He can do things on a football pitch that other people can't. He creates chances for people. He scores great goals. I think his attitude is spot on. He's a great lad around the club.

I was 33 when we won the FA Cup , then we went on to win the League Cup, we won the European Cup Winners' Cup , and then we won the title, and then we won the double. I was 33 when that all started up, so when people keep talking about age, you can win a lot of things if you challenge yourself and keep yourself really fit. If you've got the experience, then you can help people around you, and I think Bruno can do that.

Has Bruno Fernandes Reached Icon Status?

Man Utd's Attacking Depth

Should Carrick Start Both Mbeumo And Sesko?

Does Benjamin Sesko have to start now? That’s only a decision Michael can make. When you’re playing against an opponent, do you think it's best to play three players who have amazing pace and dribbling ability, like the three forwards who’ve been starting?

Sesko has been great off the bench. His attitude is fantastic. He's getting more confident as it goes on, too, and when I talk about pace, the pace he showed to get up with Bryan on the goal against Everton showed he's got a lot of pace as well. I think he's in the development stage of his career at this moment, but I think as he goes along, his confidence will grow if he keeps scoring the goals off the bench.

The Sesko Strategy

Is Michael Carrick managing Benjamin Sesko the right way? I think what happens as well is that as the game goes on, you start tiring, and when you come on the pitch as Sesko does, you’ve got 30 minutes to put all your energy into that period of time.

Sometimes their defenders will be getting a bit tired, and you get a little bit more of an opportunity, and I think that's what's happening for Sesko at the moment. He keeps coming on, scoring really important goals, and I think Michael's playing it really well at the moment.

Benjamin Sesko

What I’d Do Playing With Sesko

If I was playing behind Benjamin Sesko , what more would I like to see from him? I’d like his hold-up play to improve.  I think he's getting there. He works hard trying to get down the sides of people. His finishing just lately has been great, so you can see he's got the ability to do that.

He's had a few headers where a lot of people have said he should have scored there, but at least he's getting in the right positions now and giving himself opportunities. When you’re a midfield player, especially an attacking midfield player, hold-up players have just got to be that little bit better, but he can improve on that, and he looks as if he could be a very good all-rounder sent forward.

Sesko Can Learn From Hughes And Cole

Mark Hughes and Andy Cole were great at holding up the ball and knowing how to do it, and for me, Sesko should be looking at the clips of Hughes and Cole to see the way they could hold up the ball and bring midfield players into the game.

If you were to pick parts of any former United strikers for Sesko to model his game on, it would be Mark Hughes and Andy Cole.
