BoyleSports and Ryanair today presented a €10,000 cheque to the Irish children’s charity, Jack And Jill Children’s Foundation at Ryanair’s head office in Swords.
Ryanair teamed up with BoyleSports to offer Ryanair customers travelling to Cheltenham a free €15 bet, with €5 from every promotional bet placed going to Jack & Jill.
Ryanair’s Robin Kiely and BoyleSports’ Leon Blanche presented the proceeds of the promotion to Jonathan Irwin, CEO of the Jack & Jill, which provides direct funds to families of children with brain damage, who suffer severe intellectual and physical developmental delay, enabling them to receive home respite care.
Just under €5,000 was raised through the Ryanair Cheltenham promotion and as a good will gesture, BoyleSports has added another €5,000 to the fund bringing the total donation up to €10,000.
Leon Blanche, BoyleSports Head of Communications said: “We raised just under €5,000 through Ryanair customers for the Jack And Jill Children’s Foundation but as a goodwill gesture, we are doubling this and are delighted to be donating €10,000 to such a worthy cause.”
He added: “We look forward to teaming up and working with Ireland’s favourite airline, Ryanair, in the future as the Fairyhouse Easter Festival rapidly approaches, which will feature the Ryanair Gold Cup and BoyleSports Irish Grand National.”
Ryanair’s Robin Kiely said: “Ryanair are delighted to support the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation, which does such wonderful work to help families of children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. Ryanair carried over 15,000 Irish racing fans to the UK for Cheltenham on the lowest fares. We were delighted that this partnership with BoyleSports worked so well and we could give back to both our passengers and a worthy charity”
Jack & Jill’s CEO, Jonathan Irwin said: “On behalf of the 300 children and their families supported by the Jack & Jill Foundation, I salute and thank Ryanair and BoyleSports most sincerely. Every cent raised funds home nursing care hours for children, all over Ireland, from birth to 4 years of age who have life limiting conditions; precious children who need constant care. Some are brought home to die, where their parents want them, and where they belong for whatever short time they have. Thank you.”
