The first Semi-Final heat Saturday Night has three of the top four in the outright market Buckos Diamond the SP favourite at 5/4, Bombay Pat the current second favourite at odds of 8/1 for the competition and joint third favourite Carrick Aldo who is 10/1 to win the competition outright.
The favourite ahead of this race is Bockos Diamond at odds of 4/6 to continue his remarkable strike rate of 14 wins and 1 runner-up finish from 15 races. The September 2022 son of Dorotas Wildcat and Seaglass Shadow has gears never quite seen in the sport following his shattering of the Track Record for the 550-yard trip in the third round clocking a sensational 28.94

My eachway bet in this race is Carrick Aldo at odds of 5/1 for trainer David Murray, The 2023 Sprint Cup Winner has serious gears clocking the most consistent sectional away of all dogs in this race, including Bockos Diamond! If he can get close to 29.15 for the third successive week he will be a great bet to finish second.
This is an intensely competitive race and in a sense could be the “final before the final” with the winner of this race very likely to be the favourite on BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby Final Night. That being said, Bockos Diamond has the gears to make the rest of these look silly and at odds of 4/6 remains my best bet.

The second Semi-Final heat Saturday Night has a Puppy Oaks Winner (Singalong Dolly), a 600 Yard Track Record holder (Da Bold Falcon), a British representative (March On Freddie) an English Derby Runner-up (BoyleSports Bob and 4th fastest of the year for the 550 trip (Balinbola Jim). Yet none of the dogs mentioned is the market favourite Cheap Sandwiches at odds of 2/1.
The favourite ahead of this race is Cheap Sandwiches can be gotten at odds of 2/1 with the September 2022 son of Burgess Bucks and Hearthill Josie the likely leader in this race having clocked a 29.18 in the third round when leading from the front, would put him in pole position to land the spoils on Saturday.

My each-way bet in this race is Ballinbola Jim at odds of 4/1 for trainer Brendan P Murphy, the April 2022 son of Good News and Ballinbola Rum clocked a sensational 29.07 when he won in the second round which was the fourth fastest run for the 550-yard distance in Shelbourne Park this year.
My tip for this race is Ballinbola Jim, I think he is being grossly underestimated at odds of 4/1 considering he has the quickest clock of all dogs in this race for the 550-yard trip with his 29.7 in the second round.
