BoyleSports Champion Stakes Favourites

Seven Beach – 5/2

The early favourite for the BoyleSports Champion Stakes is Seven Beach for trainer Jennifer O’Donnell.

The September 2021 son of Pestana and Whitings Gift has already quite the resumé in 2025, having won both the Gold Cup at Shelbourne Park and the Select Stakes this year. The early paced runner put in a career best run of 29.25 and 29.19 for the 550-yard distance in Tralee to win the Champions Final earlier this month.

Though approaching his fourth birthday, he seems to be only getting quicker with age and is a worthy favourite for the event at current running.

De Lahdedah – 5/1

Next in the betting for the BoyleSports Champion Stakes is De Lahdedah for trainer Liam Dowling.

Another experienced campaigner, the October 2021 son of Lenson Bocko and Ballymac Sarahjo, his career highlight to date came when he won the 2024 English Greyhound Derby, breaking the Track Record at the time in the process with a 28.58. He also finished 3rd in the 2025 English Derby Final.

A consistent campaigner who always puts himself thereabouts in the major competitions at odds of 5/1, you could do worse in the market.

BoyleSports Bob – 10/1

Third favourite is BoyleSports Bob, who is trained by Paul Hennessy.

Despite being an October 2021 dog, the son of Good News and Roanna Bess is one of the more lightly raced market leaders with 33 races to his name. He has plenty of gears too, though he’s yet to land a classic success, his pace justifies coming closest as the runner-up in the 2024 English Derby, as well as being a finalist in the Irish Derby the same year.

Bob hasn’t run in over a month since his second-round elimination in the 2025 English Derby, so he may just be one of the fresher dogs coming into the event.

Glengar Martha – 10/1

The leading Bitch in the market is Glengar Martha for trainer Pat Buckley.

The October 2021 daughter of Droopys Sydney and Glengarbadminton has 69 races to her name and has a consistent record in open-class company with 23 wins, 15 runner-up runs and 12 third-place finishes. She was most recently eliminated at he semi-final stage in the Oaks at Shelbourne Park.

Another runner whose CV arguably deserves a major success, but at odds of 10/1, I can’t see the value in a bet.

Cheque For Cash– 12/1

Rounding off the market leaders is Cheque For Cash, which is trained by Karol Ramsbottom.

The September 2022 son of Domana Buko and Paradise Asia has placed in the money positions in 19/26 races with 9 wins, 3 runner-up finishes, and 6 third-place runs.  The dog recently had a career best run at Tralee in the Juvenile lasic, winning in 29.27, though he failed to replicate this in the final with a last place finish.

Capable of a flashy run which could be needed to win this event, can he do it over two weeks against the best of the best I’m unsure and at odds of 12/1, I would avoid.

Cheque For Cash to win - 12/1
