Luke Littler
Luke Littler
Luke Littler was cut to 6/5 favourite in the 2025 BOYLE Sports World Grand Prix outright odds after demolishing defending champion Mike De Decker 3-0 in the second round in Leicester.
The Nuke is looking to add another major title to his CV following World Championship, UK Open, and World Matchplay triumphs already this year.
Littler had beaten Gian van Veen in round one despite the Dutchman averaging a tournament record 106.47, and he lost just two legs against De Decker.
After wrapping up a comprehensive victory with a 170 checkout, Littler said on Sky Sports: “Mike definitely didn’t turn up at his best, but I had to jump on it and take the lead early.”
Describing the double-start format as “brutal”, Littler added: “We have seen some big shocks this year, but Mike didn’t turn up to his best there and I just had to do the job.”
Gerwyn Price
The Iceman cometh next for Littler
Littler will next play Gerwyn Price after the Welshman routed Josh Rock 3-0, with the 2020 champion quoted at 5/1 to regain the title.
The Iceman, who averaged 110 in the second set, said: “I know Luke’s been playing really well, but this game, with the double start, anything can happen.
“I’m playing fantastic, and if I can get off like I did today, then I have every chance. “
Jonny Clayton
In the same half of the draw, 2021 victor Jonny Clayton continued his impressive run with a 3-1 win over Luke Woodhouse and is 10/1 to go all the way again.
He will play 14/1 chance Dirk van Duijvenbode in the last eight after the Dutchman swept past Daryl Gurney 3-0 with a 96.40 average.
Luke Humphries
Humphries extends great Leicester record
World number one Luke Humphries eased into the quarter-finals by beating Krzysztof Ratajski 3-1, and he is 11/4 in the BOYLE Sports World Grand Prix outright odds.
Cool Hand Luke, who lifted the trophy in 2023 and was runner-up 12 months ago, got better and better as that game went on, ultimately averaging 95.58.
The 30-year-old commented: “I slowed my throw down and I started hitting the trebles. On the practice board, I am hitting everything, and then I am going out there and not, so I needed to change something.”
Gary Anderson
Next up for Humphries is a clash with 28/1 shot Cameron Menzies, who admitted he was calling himself “all the names under the sun” as he missed eight match darts on the way to beating Rob Cross 3-1.
There was an upset as fourth seed Stephen Bunting was ousted by Dutchman Danny Noppert, who won 3-1 and is now 14/1, while his quarter-final foe, Gary Anderson, cruised past Joe Cullen 3-0 and is 11/1.
