Trap (1) – Hackney Tango

Hackney Tango – 7/2

Wearing the red jacket on Saturday Night will be the daughter of Jacob Tashadelek and Satin Abbie for trainer Michael Taggart.

The August 2022 whelp has 9 career wins from 26 races with a best time of 28.06, her 28.06 Track Record run in Dundalk last month.  She showed fine early gears in her opening round, 28.63 success, and last weekend finished runner-up, 2.25 lengths behind Westway Rossa.

Not without a chance, and if Hackney can emulate her Dundalk form in Lifford, she may be the fastest in this race.

Trap (2) – Magical Mag

Magical Mag - 6/4

Favourite for Saturday’s Final is the progeny of Ballymac Cashout and Mystical Luna for trainer Patrick Guilfoyle.

Born in December 2022, Magical Mag made the 2025 BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Derby Finalist last month and is widely regarded as one of the fastest on the track. Despite being favourite for the final, she’s yet to win a heat in the competition, coming runner-up, clocking 28.57 and 28.63.

Though yet to win a heat, she should come on from those runs and is a worthy favourite.

Trap (3) –Daleroad Mya

Daleroad Mya – 12/1

Another Patrick Guilfoyle-trained finalist is the daughter of Explosive Boy and Razldazl Mya, who will be wearing the white jacket on Saturday Night.

Born in February 2023, making her the youngest of the finalists, Daleroad Mya made her debut on the track in November 2024, winning in 28.55 in Tralee and boasts a record of 8 wins from 25 races.  She was third in her opening heat of the event in 28.77, but despite going slower last week, was victorious in 28.94.

Things will need to go her way Saturday, but she still has the ability.

Trap (4) – Ashmar Una

Ashmar Una – 16/1

In the coffin box on Saturday will be the daughter of Pestana and Cu Abu, who is trained by Ciaran O’Reilly.

The June 2022 bitch has a career record of 7 wins from 27 races with a best time of 28.72, but her strong running style always puts her in contention. She opened this event with a 28.72 win, and last week was beaten by a neck in 28.96

Saturday’s market outsider, but few will be finishing faster.

Trap (5) –Westway Rossa

Westway Rossa– 5/2

Westway Rossa is trained by Damian Maginn and is the daughter of Good News and Ballydoyle Rossa.

The October 2022 tracker has a sensational record on track with 14 wins from 32 races with a best time of 28.28 in Shelbourne Park.  Following a disappointing third in her opening heat, clocking 29.17, she went far quicker in the semi-final to win in 28.54.

Has proven speed but drawn a little far out , which will make things far tougher.

Trap (6) –Magical Sapphire

Magical Sapphire– 6/1

Wearing the stripes Saturday will be the daughter of Grangeview Ten and Grangeview Megs, who is the third finalist for Patrick Guilfoyle.

Born in June 2022, she boasts an impressive record since debuting back in Galway in February 2024, following 12 wins from 35 races. In this competition, she finished runner-up in 28.92 and third in 29.23.

Likely too short a distance, but if there’s trouble, she will be finishing fast.
