Conor McGregor seems intent on making more comebacks than Frank Sinatra but faces another tough return to the UFC octagon when taking on Max Holloway in Las Vegas this weekend. Notorious came out on top via a unanimous decision when this pair met in Boston way back in 2013, but the odds are stacked in Holloway’s favour for the T-Mobile Arena rematch.
Fighting after a five-year absence and three days before his 38th birthday, we just can’t see McGregor getting through a gruelling five rounds. Holloway is fit, durable and well capable of finishing opponents off, so 10/11 for him to win by KO, TKO or disqualification is hard to resist in our UFC 329 predictions.

Notorious battle
Notorious may struggle to fend off Father Time
McGregor became the biggest box-office draw in UFC history during a meteoric rise through the rankings all the way to enjoying featherweight and lightweight title triumphs. However, since losing his mega-bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018, Notorious has only fought three times.
His last win came in January 2020 against Donald Cerrone , when an early blitz saw him stop the Cowboy after just 40 seconds. But back-to-back quick defeats at the hands of Dustin Poirier the following year looked to have ended his career, with McGregor suffering a broken leg at the end of the first round in the second contest.
Notorious was scheduled to return against Michael Chandler in 2024, but that fight was cancelled when he sustained a broken toe, and an 18-month doping ban for three failures of the whereabouts system put any comeback hopes on hold.
McGregor is now eligible to compete again and is still capable of drawing huge attention, but Holloway is a tough opponent to face first up after such a long absence. The 34-year-old, nicknamed Blessed , is a former featherweight champion who had won six of his last eight bouts before losing a unanimous decision to Charles Oliveira in March.
Holloway’s overall 27-9 record contains just one loss by knockout and one by submission, with the other seven defeats going the distance. As long as he doesn’t get caught cold at the start, the American is fancied to wear down his Irish foe and 10/3 for Blessed to win in round three or round four is another Conor McGregor vs Max Holloway prediction.
Pimblett underdog
Paddy the Baddy facing tough battle
Also on the Las Vegas card, British star Paddy Pimblett is rated a slight underdog against Benoit Saint Denis , of France. Paddy the Baddy built up plenty of momentum by winning his first seven fights under the UFC umbrella but appeared to have his limitations exposed in January’s unanimous decision loss to Justin Gaethje .
Saint Denis had his progress halted by back-to-back losses to Poirier and Renato Moicano in 2024 but has rallied well to rattle off four straight victories inside the distance. The 30-year-old God of War has a strong all-round game which features good grappling skills and decent striking power.
Saint Denis gets the nod to claim victory here at 8/11 and for those wanting a bit more value, 31/10 for him to win by submission for the third time in five bouts is added to our UFC 329 betting tips.
