BOYLE Sports On Red Alert As Leopardstown Awaits Green Light

BOYLE Sports is preparing for a potential Willie Mullins weekend whitewash as the Dublin Racing Festival awaits the green light from a further inspection on Saturday morning.

The Closutton maestro has made a habit of dominating Leopardstown’s showpiece meeting, landing all eight Grade 1 contests in 2024 and following up with six Grade 1 victories last year.

Now the layers fear another Mullins-powered accumulator could damage their books with several of his stable stars lining up again this weekend. Among the headline acts on the opening day of racing is Narciso Has, the ante-post favourite for the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham, who is priced at a confident 4/5 to enhance his credentials in the second race on the card.

Punters are also rallying behind Galopin Des Champs to take a significant step forward from his third-place finish on seasonal debut in the Savills Chase at Christmas. In a market dominated by Mullins runners, the dual Cheltenham Gold Cup hero is 6/4 favourite in the Irish Gold Cup ahead of stablemates Gaelic Warrior (5/1) and Fact To File (7/1).

The second day of action looks equally ominous for the oddsmakers, with Final Demand installed as a hot 2/5 favourite to underline his status as one of the standout novice chasers of the campaign, while Lossiemouth (even money) has been strongly supported to reassert her authority over Brighterdaysahead (7/4) in the Irish Champion Hurdle.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:

“Mullins has turned the Dublin Racing Festival into something of a personal showcase in recent years, and his stable is giving us the willies yet again. With so many of his runners dominating the markets, there’s a real prospect of another accumulator-fuelled bloodbath if things fall his way.”
