Bohemians v Derry City Preview
Bohemians’ Form
Bohemians league form in 2024 has left a lot to be desired which resulted in Declan Devine being removed from his position early in the season with him replaced by Alan Reynolds. While there hasn't been an uptake in form in the league with the side still underperforming in 8th, like last season they’ve found breathing space in another cup run.
They opened their FAI Cup run with a huge 1-0 Dublin Derby victory against Shamrock Rovers though that was followed by stumbling over the line against Kerry where they drew 2-2 AET before they won 2-4 on penalties. In the Quarter-Final they then had a comfortable 0-4 win over UCD.
While their league form has been poor, the returns of Tierney and Devoy among a few other summer signings have put this squad in a decent position to scare Derry in this game.

Derry City’s Form
Derry City have been serial bridesmaids in the Premier Division for the last two successive seasons but despite occupying the same position in the league with 5 games remaining this may be their greatest chance of landing that elusive league title. However, in the FAI Cup, they have found success more recently with their 4-0 win over Shelbourne in 2022.
They opened their FAI Cup run with a 3-0 victory over St Patrick’s Athletic following a fifteen-minute flurry of second-half goals. In the third round, they had a 0-1 win over Cork City at Turners Cross and in the Quarter Final, they defeated Shelbourne 2-0.
Their run to this stage of the competition has been arguably the toughest of all four sides and so are worthy favourites to win this Semi-Final and the subsequent Final.

Key Players To Watch
Dayle Rooney – Bohemians
Where would Bohemians be without Dayle Rooney (26)? The former Drogheda United man has been their standout performer for the club this season scoring 7 times and providing 13 assists from 33 games in all competitions. Set Pieces could prove key in this game and there are few better in the country at them than Dayle Rooney.
Patrick Hoban – Derry City
Following an off-season where Hoban’s future was speculated and touted toward clubs across Irish Football he finally signed for Derry City last January for an initial fee of €30,000. He was signed as the difference maker in their attempt to win the Premier Division and FAI Cup and as of yet, he’s held up his side of the bargain being the club's top-scoring 14 goals and providing 3 assists in 33 games.
