Kobbie Mainoo

Casemiro Should Stay

I'd encourage Casemiro to stay. He’s had a really good season this year. He’s a top player. He's got a great football brain. He's a really good passer of the ball. He heads the ball well, and when he goes in to tackle, he means it. You don't stay at Real Madrid for the amount of years he did and win Champions League titles if you're not an absolute top player, and people see what you're really good at, so I think next season he could definitely give us a little bit more with his experience. He was great in Europe last year, too.

Mainoo’s Best Potential Partner

Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson are both good players. It’s about how much they're going to cost. You've got to look at that to see whether you can buy one of them because I think they would both fit this United side well. That's if their clubs allow them to leave because you've always got that wherever you go, or the player doesn’t want to come to you, but it’s still very unusual that a player doesn't want to come to Manchester United.

My Wishlist

I think Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson would definitely fit the criteria for what Manchester United need in the summer. They’re both homegrown, too, and that’s important. It’s good to have a British core within the club.

But foreign players do brilliant at United too, and there are loads of them throughout the world that they’ll be scouting, so there might be a player out there who’s young and has that ability to become a Declan Rice or Wharton or an Anderson.

Mainoo Will Improve!

I’m really pleased for Kobbie Mainoo because he’s got a great attitude and loads of ability. He’s come through the academy, so he knows exactly what Manchester United are all about. It’s great to see him back in the team, and I think he can still get that little bit better, too, the more experience he gets and the more game time he gets. He's going to improve all the way to the end of the season.

New Signing Asessment

Is Mbeumo Signing of the Season?

When I saw Bryan Mbeumo at Brentford , I always liked him. He's got a great attitude. He goes from side to side. He scores really good goals. He's been a great asset to Manchester United, and it's been a good buy for the club.

Whether he's player of the season or signing of the season, you can only talk about that when the season ends to see how everybody finishes up, but he's done a great job for Manchester United . For me, that's all that counts. I'm not bothered whether he's the best player in the league, and if people vote for that. All I look at is that he's done a great job for Manchester United.

Can Cunha Emulate Cantona?

Matheus Cunha has got a toughness about him. He's got great ability, and I quite like it that sometimes he gets angry with his team-mates because he’s trying to get the best out of each other. He's got an attitude that I wouldn't mind playing with him because of the ability he's got, and then he's got that bit of mental toughness, so I think he could improve more as he’s going along as a Manchester United player.

Dorgu’s Potential

Can Patrick Dorgu be a big player for Manchester United after what we’ve seen this season? I hope he does. It gives Michael Carrick more options out wide, and it’s always great to have options. Sir Alex proved that in United's best years. He won the treble with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer , Andy Cole , Dwight Yorke and Teddy Sheringham . It’s great when you can rotate strikers like Sir Alex did off the bench. They can always score goals or create something.

I just hope Doku comes back with the confidence that he has shown and gets the goals that he has been scoring.

Transfer Speculation

United’s Attacking Shortlist

Cole Palmer , Jude Bellingham and Morgan Rogers are all very, very good players, but these lads are all attacking players. I think in the midfield area, Manchester United need a really top player who can defend and pass the ball well. I think that’s the type of player we need. Because of the signings like this year, with Sesko up front and Bruno in midfield, all those players, Palmer , Bellingham and Rogers , they have got great ability and great pace, but they’re not what United need.

Rodgers is doing great for Villa , but that’s another question. Can you get these players? Does Bellingham want to leave Spain ? He's done great, but does he want to leave Real Madrid? Because we've got to remember that they are a top club, they've had a little bit of a dip this year, but we all know the ability that Bellingham has got.

My Bellingham Pitch

If a move for Jude Bellingham to Manchester United was potentially on, I’d say to him that we are improving, we’re trying to buy players like you because we want to get back to where we were years ago and start competing in the Champions League and winning things. That's what we're trying to achieve at the club, and I think we are getting there because last summer we bought some very good players.

Will Bellingham Play In The Premier League Someday?

Returning Legends

Could Beckham Run United?

David’s got the personality and the aura to bring a lot to a football club, so for me, when I see ex-players from the past come back in to be around the club, it can only be great for a club like Manchester United.

Should United Hire Legends More?

You look at somebody like Edwin van der Sar and the role he was in at Ajax , and you can see what is possible for players in jobs like that. You just need the education.

Bayern Munich have always done that. Some of their top players have always ended up on the board or in other roles in decades gone by, so it is doable, but it's just the passion you need if you want to take on that type of role.

Fletcher And Evans Future

Darren Fletcher and Jonny Evans are both bright lads. They’re in good roles behind Michael at the moment, and it's nice to see old players attached to the club again.
