Before last season Bayern dominated the Bundesliga winning 11 consecutive titles but in 23/24 they were undone to the fairytale story of Bayer Leverkusen led by Alonso landing to their first Bundesliga title. That prompted them to sign the likes of Olise, Paulinha and Ito for a net spend of €-67.65m this summer. Their Champions League form has been mixed so far opening with a comprehensive 9-2 victory over Dinamo Zagreb but that was followed by defeats albeit against strong opponents 1-0 against Aston Villa and 4-1 against Barcelona.
