Ange Postecoglou faces a baptism of fire as Nottingham Forest boss against his old rivals Arsenal, and the omens do not look good for a positive outcome.
The Australian only picked up one point from four encounters with the Gunners whilst in charge of Tottenham, tasting defeat in the last three North London derbies.
Arsenal have also secured three straight home wins over Forest since the Reds returned to the Premier League, with 10 goals scored in those games and only one conceded.
Mikel Arteta’s men were in front at the interval on each occasion, so 21/20 for the Gunners to be leading at half-time and full-time once more makes sense for our initial Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest prediction.

Arsenal Form Guide
The Gunners have to recover from a 1-0 loss to Liverpool last time out, when they came in for criticism for failing to show much attacking ambition at Anfield. Arsenal also lacked fluency going forward when edging out Manchester United on the road, and a 5-0 rout of Leeds at the Emirates Stadium was marred by injuries to Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard, so it hasn’t been the smoothest of starts to the season.
Influential midfielder Odegaard was only available to come off the bench at Anfield, but should be back up to full speed here, though, so that will be a major boost, as most of their positive moves go through the Norway international.
Eberechi Eze will also have had more time to settle in. Noni Madueke is already making an impact, and Viktor Gyokeres hit a double on his home debut and has the physical presence to prove a real handful, especially if the Gunners can tweak their tactics to feed more crosses into the box for him.
Looking at the Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest odds, Eze scored against the Reds for Crystal Palace last term and takes the eye at 11/2 to break the deadlock here if handed a starting role.
Nottingham Forest Form Guide
Forest finished a fine seventh last season after being right up there in the top four for much of the campaign and twice broke their club transfer record over the summer to bring in Dan Ndoye and Omari Hutchinson, while also spending another £30million on James McAtee.
Capturing Douglas Luiz from Juventus and keeping England international Morgan Gibbs-White were other plus points, and all looked well after an opening 3-1 win over Brentford and a solid 1-1 draw away to Palace.
However, the wheels came off in a 3-0 loss to West Ham at the City Ground, and the frosty relationship between owner Evangelos Marinakis and Nuno Espirito Santo came to an abrupt end on Monday.
Postecoglou’s appointment quickly followed, and Greek businessman Marinakis said, “We are bringing a coach to the club who has a proven and consistent record of winning trophies.
“His experience of coaching teams at the highest level, along with his desire to build something special with us at Forest, makes him a fantastic person to help us on our journey and achieve consistently all our ambitions.”
Postecoglou isn’t one to shirk a challenge, and there is every chance he will adopt a positive approach to this tough opener, but that could play into Arsenal’s hands.
Let’s add a BOYLE Sports price boost of 9/4 for a home win and both teams to score to our Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest betting tips, , with 10/1 for a 3-1 scoreline also tempting.
