We have an Arsenal v Brighton prediction for you plus a breakdown of the betting odds, team news and matchups ahead of Saturday's early kickoff.

Arsenal are likely Premier League contenders again this season. That said, they will know that there is little room for slip-up if they want to finally conquer Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Brighton only finished 11th last season, but the signs seem brighter for this season due to their absence from Europe affording them the luxury to keep their focus on domestic competitions.

Arsenal v Brighton Preview

Arsenal’s Form

Arsenal ended last season trophyless (unless you count the Community Shield) which was a disappointing end to another generally positive season. However, 2nd place will only wash for so long and despite the only addition to their squad being Calafiori coming in to bolster the defence with a potential points deduction coming for Man City, this could be the year for The Gunners.

They earned a huge early season victory last weekend against potential banana skin Aston Villa earning themselves a 0-2 win. However, despite the scoreline and being dominant in possession, the XG stats suggested a closer game with it being 1.32 (Aston Villa) to their 1.41 but clinical finishing from Trossard and Party proved the difference.

The title was decided by 2 points last season so there is little room for points dropped if they want to challenge City next season.

Brighton’s Form

Brighton are “unburdened” by Europe which makes one of the best-run clubs in the Premier League a far more dangerous prospect for the 24/25 without the need for them to balance league and European football. They’ve had a positive off-season too, retaining their “stars” and signing the likes of Minteh, Wieffer and O’Riley.

They continued their strong vein of form against Man United last weekend where they earned themselves a 2-1 victory from an XG scoreline of 2.14 to 1.29. However, despite getting the better of Man United in both scorelines the stats don’t tell the full story and this was one of their least dominant wins against them in recent times, but all that matters is the final score at the end of the day.

Brighton have won their last six games in a row since pre-season and will be no easy prospect for any side this season. However, this could be one of their trickier ties against title contenders Arsenal.

Key Players To Watch

Kai Havertz – Arsenal

Arguably Arsenal’s most underrated player, despite being the club's third-highest transfer fee when he signed from Chelsea in June 2023. Last season he scored 14 goals and provided 7 assists in 51 games, but he offers far more than just output. Havertz also offers great endeavour and defence from the front, which is critical to Arsenal’s style of play.

Yankuba Minteh – Brighton

Arsenal’s stand-out summer acquisition was Yankuba Minteh (20) from Newcastle for a reported £30 million from Newcastle. Minteh came into the Premier League with a growing reputation in the game following 11 goals and 6 assists in 37 games on loan at Feyenoord last season.

Minteh is an extremely exciting RW with brilliant dribbling and passing ability while also offering a finishing threat and strong defensive contribution. He got on the scoresheet on the opening weekend of the season and put in a solid showing against Man United. Expect him to be a threat again in this game.

Arsenal v Brighton Prediction & Best Bet

Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Brighton

Arsenal have gone 2 wins from 2 to open their Premier League season and are yet to concede a goal in the league and look on course to challenge for the league title this season again.

Brighton continued their strong vein of form against Man United last weekend and like Arsenal are yet to drop a point this season under new manager Fabian Hürzeler but this presents their toughest test yet under him.

This will be a fascinating game to watch tactically, but I think Arsenal should be able to do enough in the end.

Best Bet: Arsenal Win + Under 3.5 Goals @ 6/5
