New Favourite
There’s been a shift in the antepost markets at BOYLE Sports following confirmation that State Man will miss the season through injury.
The setback for the Irish champion hurdler has triggered numerous changes in the Champion Hurdle market at Cheltenham, with The New Lion the 3/1 (from 7/2) favourite. In the UK Champion Trainer betting, Dan Skelton has been cut to 2/5 (from 4/7) after a strong start to the campaign, while Willie Mullins has been eased to 15/8 (from 13/8).
Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:
“Dan Skelton has made a flying start to the season and with a potential money-spinner like State Man sidelined, there’s a growing belief that Willie Mullins might just struggle to overhaul the home team and land this season’s British jumps trainers’ championship.”
