Speaking to BOYLE Sports, former Arsenal midfielder Anders Limpar has given his thoughts on what Arsenal’s squad needs to win silverware and if Donnarumma or Eze are needed to strengthen it further.

The Swede identified the one thing that could be holding this Arsenal side back from winning further silverware, but backs Mikel Arteta's leadership ability to lead the club to glory, stating, “Any Trophy Will do!”

Gianluigi Donnarumma

One Of The Best Donnarumma

He is in the top three or probably one of the best goalkeepers in the world, but anybody can pick him.

I'm not sure if he should go to Manchester United. They probably want to buy a whole new team and get back to the era that they had in the late 90s, and if they want to buy a goalkeeper like Donnarumma, yes, fair enough.

Arsenal Don’t Need Donnarumma

Arsenal shouldn't pick him up because we have an unbelievably good goalkeeper, and he's good with his feet as well. The thing is, when you are a top club like Arsenal, City or Liverpool, you can't have 21 or 25 world-class players because only 10 can play, and the rest is going to be awkward for them.

Let's say if you play for Liverpool and you have 25 stars and you're one of the players who are on the bench, and you won't get into the team. That is not funny as a player.

Managers and clubs should be, they should be more careful when they buy their squad because they can't have 20 superstars. It's impossible. Arsenal shouldn't buy a goalkeeper because Raya is unbelievable for Arsenal and the back four. They are a solid team now, the back four and Raya.

Suddenly, a new goalkeeper comes in, and it takes time for him to settle in. At the moment, we shouldn't buy a goalkeeper for sure.

Eberechi Eze

Should Arsenal Sign Eze?

With all due respect to Eze, but if he's not coming to Arsenal, he can go to Tottenham. We still have Trossard, Martinelli, Madueke and Saka. Kai Havertz can play on the wing. We have five world-class players. To bring another one in, if you want to play Eze, what is Madueke going to do? What about Martinelli? And Trossard?

You can’t just buy players for fun. You have to have this chemistry among the players. The team we have now, that’s the team we’re going to win with. End of story. I don’t think we need any more players at the moment because Arsenal have a tremendous team spirit.

Dream Arsenal Signing

Wow! That's a tough question. In my opinion, we have world-class players in every position, so for me to say we need someone no, I don't think so. I don't think it would be any better to buy whoever I would choose, you know?

We have the squad now, and then I think we have to stick with it, and then we will have one of the best squads in Europe. It's just up to the players and the manager now to produce, you know, and create chances for Kai Havertz and Viktor.

Arsenal's Trophy Hopes

Stick By Arteta! He Will Guide Arsenal To Trophies

Listen, there's always pressure! There’s pressure on Arne Slot and Pep Guardiola, and Arteta. That's their daily job to handle the pressure. I mean, look back at Sir Alex Ferguson. He didn't win a trophy in his first eight years. They stuck with him, and he is one of the most successful managers in the world, especially in England.

I think Arsenal should stick with Arteta. We were in the semi-finals in the Champions League. We came second in the Premier League. We won an FA Cup with Arteta. What more can you ask for?

Would winning the Premier League or the Champions League crown it? Of course. But everybody has to know it's so hard to win the Premier League. We've been so close. In that case, it might not be the manager's fault.

If you have two, three games left of the season, and a few players crack up in the heat of the moment, it can't be just the manager's fault. It's the whole team who should get the blame. But who's getting the blame? It's the managers. We know that. I’ll stick with him. I have trust in him. And you watch, he's going to win trophies for us.

Any Trophy Will Do!

Yes, I agree. It's fun to be in the Carabao Cup. Everybody plays with their junior side or the B-team up until the semi-finals. Suddenly, a trophy is up for grabs.

It doesn't matter whatever we win. The Carabao Cup, the FA Cup, the Champions League, and the league, all titles are up for grabs this year, and we have started off really well.

We have to wait and see, but any trophy is good for me. Thank you very much.

Arsenal’s Weakness

Arsenal’s Weakness

We have an unbelievable goalkeeper. We have probably one of the best defences in the game. We have creative midfielders. We have Saka, who's probably the best player in the whole of Britain. We have good goal scorers.

We probably lack some mental strength in the last few games of the season. Of the last three seasons, we have lost games at home to West Ham two-nil or whatever it was, when we should go out and win those games.

So a little bit more mental strength when it comes to the punch at the end of the season because we're there all the way through up to the last couple of games, right, and one season we were even ahead, and City caught us for some reason.

We haven't had the mentality in the last couple of games, and if it's something we need to add to go out and beat Liverpool when it's two games left of the season or whoever we play.

It doesn't really matter when we play Liverpool. Liverpool, Manchester City, Man United, Chelsea away, you need to play them all. Over the years, it might have been better to play Liverpool in the early stage of the season rather than when they've got their machine rolling.

Liverpool won their opening game 4-2 with two late goals against Bournemouth, so it might be a good thing to play them early. We don’t know. We need to play Leeds first, take that game on, and then take on Liverpool next.

Statement Win Needed

It is a good point. We need the strength to do it, but as a team, over the last 25 years, how many times have we beaten Liverpool at Anfield? It's not that many times. It is one of the toughest games you can have.

If we can go there and beat them, that would be a tremendous moment for this group and their team spirit and for the mentality of the side. To beat the best team in England at the moment, because they are the reigning champions, which would be such a boost.

It was also a boost to beat United because United were the better side, so to win 1-0 when you’re not playing at your best, that’s an unbelievable start.
