Ally McCoist has some strong opinions on which Euro 2024 stars Man United should target in this summer transfer window.

According to McCoist, bolstering the midfield and adding another centre-forward are crucial for the team's success next season. He singles out two specific players who could make an immediate impact, suggesting they could significantly strengthen United's squad.

Find out who McCoist is tipping for a move to Old Trafford plus his thoughts on a potential return to the Premier League for Romelu Lukaku and who Arsenal could be targeting this summer.

Where Man United Need To Improve This Summer

In the midfield, Manchester United need somebody in there. I do feel for United because they couldn’t get a level of fitness out of the central defenders, so that has got to change, but they need more in the middle of the park.

They need to sort out their wide areas as well, Rashford hasn’t been playing to his ability, you saw what happened with Jadon Sancho and Antony isn’t doing it either, he is far too inconsistent.

Alejandro Garnacho was the only one that showed any level of consistency. Upfront they have Rasmus Hojlund who struggled early on but I think he will be a good centre forward but they need another one.

I'm not convinced about the goalkeeper to tell you the gospel truth. They're not going to change him. I understand they won't change him. But I'm not 100% sure that they've effectively replaced David de Gea.

But if they can get a little bit of luck in keeping the centre backs fit, they definitely need strength in the middle of the park, wide areas and another centre forward, which is a lot.

Joao Palhinha A Great Fit For United

I think Joao Palhinha could be exactly what Manchester United need. He has had another good season at Fulham and he walks into that team in my opinion.

That would be strengthening it right away.

Niclas Fullkrug Should Be A Target For Man United This Summer

I like him. I really like him. If I was at Manchester United I would bring Niclas Fullkrug in and I don’t even think it would be a gamble, he is scoring goals for Borussia Dortmund and for Germany, he’s got the track record that indicates he can score goals. He is no-nonsense.

Potential Premier League Stars At Euro 2024

I tell you who I like the look of, Slovenia’s Benjamin Sesko. They were the only team that I've watched so far play the 4-4-2 and the lad up front, the boy called Benjamin Sesko, had a quiet game but you could tell that he’s a proper out-and-out finisher.

He'd one strike off the post, he pulled the trigger both times and both of them were unbelievable efforts. I liked the look of Sesko.

Would Benjamin Sesko Be a Good Signing for Arsenal This Summer?

I think Mikel Arteta is doing a good job and I hate all this stuff about them bottling it, they have never bottled it, they have just been pipped by an absolutely unbelievable team. That's what happened.

I would like to see them with an out and out centre forward even though they scored a heck of a lot of goals and the way they played their football.

I thought Havertz particularly towards the end of the season was a different class. He played that role brilliantly and it gives centre backs a problem because they like to mark people so they can know their job.

Havertz was pretty elusive and he floats in and out and he makes it very difficult to pick up. That said, there are times where I think they could have done one out and out, goal scoring centre forward and I would like to see them have one in their squad.

It's a gamble taking the big lad, Benjamin Sesko. I know he's had a good season, but it would still be relatively a gamble for me. But would I like to see them get an out and out centre forward.

Which other strikers have impressed you?

Romelu Lukaku was Romelu Lukaku, I thought the disallowed goal for handball was a disgrace and he had the other one disallowed for offside.

He's one of these strikers, he'll always get chances and he'll score his goals. But it's now getting to the stage that they have a must-win again and he needs to find his form.

Another striker I love is Niclas Fullkrug, the big Borussia Dortmund centre-forward, he is no-nonsense, gets on the end of crosses and has already scored a brilliant goal against Scotland.

Romelu Lukaku To Stay Abroad

I actually think Romelu Lukaku is probably better off staying in Italy. Because I don't see, and I might be wrong, I don't see Lukaku playing in the top four or five teams in the Premier League at this moment in time.

What's happened to him recently is he's had most of his success abroad, particularly in Italy and I just think he might be suited to that style of football.

He might be suited to that kind of temperament, that kind of country and I just think that's where he'll continue to play.

I don't see him, I might be wrong and time will tell, but I just don't see him coming back playing in the top flight any time soon in England.
