There are just days to go until the 2021 BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby final at Shelbourne Park with plenty of punters getting behind the chances of a bitch winning the title.
We have waited a long time for it to happen with Spring Time the last female to win the blue riband event back in 1999.
The Owen McKenna trained superstar Susie Sapphire had been backed into 3/1 from 8/1 following her sensational 29.34 victory in the second semi-final, but further support this week means she is now just 11/4.
Singalong Sally for trainer Pat Buckley qualified behind All About Ted in the opening semi-final and has been cut into 12/1 from 25/1 to claim the €125,000 prize.
Doing it for the boys is Explosive Boy, All About Ted, Jackslittlething and Carrigeen North. Patrick Guilfoyle’s Explosive Boy is the 2/1 favourite with his liability in the ante post market the biggest the sponsors have seen in recent years. He is well drawn in trap four and will take a lot of beating.
Peter Cronin’s All About Ted is not without a chance at 3/1 from 8/1 and has been gaining a lot of each way support. Graham Holland is trying to win the Derby for the third year in a row with Jackslittlething, who is now 7/2 from 4/1. Thomas Buggy has his first ever Derby finalist in Carrigeen North and he is the 25/1 outsider to cause a big upset.
