The meteorologists are warning that cold weather is going to hit the country as Ireland looks set to face some of its coldest temperatures in years.

The fallout from the cold weather could cause chaos with potential school closures a real possibility. At BoyleSports our oddsmakers have priced up the chances of some cold and snowy days in 2025.

Ireland Cold Snap Odds

Weather Specials

3/1 – Snow at Dublin Airport on St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th)

16/1 – Snow at Dublin Airport on Easter Sunday (April 20th)

33/1 – Temperature in Ireland to reach -19.2 or colder in 2025

Ireland Coldest Ever Temperature Odds

BoyleSports has slashed the odds from 100/1 into 33/1 on a record low temperature being recorded this year as the country braces itself for a cold snap.

Met Éireann has issued snow and ice warnings for much of the country across this weekend with significant snowfall accumulations expected in some areas as temperatures plunge to as low as -8°C.

The freezing conditions have triggered some punters to speculate on whether Ireland’s coldest-ever temperature could be reached in 2025, with the 1881 record of -19.2°C at Sligo’s Markree Castle the target to beat.

The chances of winter woollies being needed on St Patrick’s Day are rated much likelier, with odds of 3/1 available that snowfall is recorded at Dublin Airport on March 17th, while the odds of snowfall on Easter Sunday, which falls on April 20th, look forlorn at 16/1.

“We’re seeing a flurry of bets on Ireland clocking it’s coldest ever temperature this year, and while a gamble is really starting to snowball, I think we’re all hoping that’s one record that isn’t broken in 2025!” — Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BoyleSports
