Luke Littler

Odds

Favourite for the UK Open is Luke Littler at odds of 7/2 suggesting a 22.2% chance of his first UK Open title.

UK Open Pedigree

Luke Littler made his first appearance at the 2023 UK Open qualifying for the tournament via an amateur qualifying event. Littler reached the fourth round of the joint-best qualifier alongside Thomas Banks before being knocked out by eventual semi-finalist Adam Gawlas 10-8.

He reached the Quarter-Final last year, beating James Wade 7-10, Martin Schindler 10-8 and Dave Chisnall 10-5 before being knocked out by Damon Heta 10-8.

Major Tournament Form

Luke “The Nuke” opened up his 2025 following a dominant run to his second successive World Championship final. He won the final dominantly beating Michael van Gerwen 7-4 to claim his first-ever World Championship at just 17 years of age becoming the youngest winner of the competition.

Elsewhere in major events, he’s reached the Quarter-Final of the World Masters getting knocked out 2-4 against Johnny Clayton. In the Premier League, he’s currently second in the league phase winning five and losing three of his opening games.

Verdict

Luke Littler is a player quite unlike anything we’ve seen before and is a worthy favourite for the UK Open.

Luke Humphries

Odds

The second favourite to win the 2025 UK Open Darts is Luke Humphries at odds of 5/1 giving him a 16.7% chance of winning his first UK Open title.

UK Open Pedigree

‘Cool Hand Luke’ has appeared at this event on seven occasions since his debut at the event in 2018. It’s largely consisted of early exits until he was runner-up in 2021 when he lost to James Wade 11-5 in the final.

Following fourth and sixth-round exits in the following years he again reached the final last year where he was this time beaten by Dimitri Van den Bergh 11-10 in the final.

Major Tournament Form

Luke Humphries recovered from his fourth-round exit at the World Championships by landing the next major title of the season winning the World Masters following a 6-5 victory over Johnny Clayton.

He currently sits top of the Premier League of Darts winning nine of his first eleven matches putting him seven clear of Luke Littler.

Verdict

Luke Humphries is flying and his recent 6-4 Premier League win over Luke Littler suggests to me at odds of 11/4 he is very good value in the market.

Michael van Gerwen

Odds

The third favourite for the 2025 UK Open Darts is Michael van Gerwen with odds of 11/1 to win his fourth UK Open title.

UK Open Pedigree

Michael van Gerwen has won the UK Open three times in his career so far coming in 2015, 2016 and 2020 along with one runner-up finish in 2023.

Last year MVG had a disappointing showing after getting knocked out in the fourth round 7-10 at the hands of Mensur Suljović.

Major Tournament Form

Van Gerwen has had a disappointing 2024 season not winning a single major tournament in the season for the first time since 2010 with his best finish being when he reached the final of the World Matchplay and the Cazoo Masters.

He reached the 2025 World Championship Final though he succumbed to a 7-5 defeat against Luke Littler, he followed that up with an early exit at the World Masters getting knocked out in the second round 3-4 against Dimitri van den Bergh. So far in the Premier League he is in fourth place following three wins and four defeats.

Verdict

MVG has yet to record a major trophy this season since 2023 and although the market leaders are shorter priced on merit. At odds of 11/1, he still represents a value bet.

Gerwyn Price

Odds

Gerwyn Price is priced at 12/1 to win the 2025 UK Open which would be his first success in the event.

UK Open Pedigree

Gerwyn Price's best finish at the UK Open was when he finished runner-up in both 2017 when he lost 6-11 to Peter Wright and in 2020 when he was defeated 9-11 by Michael van Gerwen.

Last year he was knocked out of the event at the first hurdle in the fourth round losing 9-10 against Martin Schindler.

Major Tournament Form

Price opened his 2025 season with a Quarter-Final finish at the World Championship after he was knocked out 5-3 against Chris Dobey. At the recent World Masters, he was knocked out in the second round 4-3 against Damon Heta.

In the Premier League, he’s starting to find further form, winning Night 3 after a 6-3 win over Aspinall in Ireland just over a week ago. He’s third in the table with four wins and three defeats so far.

Verdict

While starting to play well, I wouldn’t fancy him for the 2025 UK Open.

Gary Anderson

Odds

Next in the betting is Gary Anderson at odds of 22/1 implying a 4.3% chance of success.

UK Open Pedigree

Gary Anderson has won the UK Open on one occasion coming in 2018 when he had an 11-7 victory over Corey Cadby. He was also a finalist in 2010 when he lost 5-11 against Phil Taylor. Other than those results it’s been entirely early exits.

Last year he was knocked out in the sixth round 10-5 against Martin Lukeman.

Major Tournament Form

Gary hasn’t been in the best of form recently being knocked out in the second round of the World Championship and in the first round of the World Masters.

Verdict

One of the darting greats, but as of now he’s not playing well enough to land major titles.
