2025 PDC World Darts Championship Betting Favourites
Luke Humphries
Odds
The favourite to win the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship is Luke Humphries at odds of 11/4 according to the latest darts betting odds at BoyleSports. Those odds imply that Luke Humphries has a 26.7% chance of winning the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship.
PDC World Championship Pedigree
‘Cool Hand Luke’ will go into the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship as the defending champion after winning his first world title in 2024. To secure the 2024 World Darts Championship Humphries beat teenage sensation Luke Littler 7-4 in the final.
That was Humphries 7th appearance at the PDC World Darts Championship. His previous best finish had been at the quarter-finals which he achieved in 2019, 2020 and 2022.
Major Tournament Form
The 28-year-old had quite the year in 2023 with wins at the Players Championship Finals, the Grand Slam of Darts, and the BoyleSports World Grand Prix before capping it off with his maiden victory at the 2024 PDC World Darts Championship.
Given that run of form, it’s safe to say that Humphries is the form player in the world of darts at the moment.
Verdict
Humphries is a worthy favourite at odds of 11/4 given that he turned himself into a prolific winner of the big events in 2023.
Luke Littler
Odds
The second favourite to win the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship is Luke Littler at odds of 4/1. Those odds suggest that Luke Littler has a 20% chance of winning this event in 2025.
PDC World Championship Pedigree
In his first appearance at the PDC World Darts Championship Littler shocked the world on his way to the final at the age of just 16. In the end, Luke Humphries proved too good in the final but Littler will now know he has what it takes to get back to the decider at next year’s event and potentially dominate the event for years to come.
Major Tournament Form
The teenage sensation won the 2023 World Youth Championship. Previous to that he appeared at the 2023 UK Open where he made it to the fourth round.
Verdict
The sky is the limit for Littler. His run to the 2024 final was a shock but it would be no surprise if he goes one better in 2025 given the level of darts we saw from him.
Michael van Gerwen
Odds
The third favourite for the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship is Michael van Gerwen at 9/2. Those odds imply that Michael van Gerwen has an 18.2% chance of being crowned the next PDC World Darts Championship winner.
PDC World Championship Pedigree
Michael van Gerwen has won the PDC World Darts Championship 3 times in his career so far along with 3 runner-up finishes. Those 3 wins make him the second most successful player in the history of the event behind only Phil Taylor. MVG’s 6 final appearances are also the second most in the history of the event behind Taylor.
In other words, it’s fair to say that van Gerwen has World Championship pedigree in bundles. With that said, he is without a win at the event since 2019 which will feel like a drought for a player of his quality.
Major Tournament Form
Van Gerwen had a disappointing year in 2023 as he failed to win any major titles. He did make it to the final of the World Championship, UK Open and Players Championship Finals but was beaten on each occasion.
He started 2024 with a shock quarter-final loss at the PDC World Darts Championship to Scott Williams.
Verdict
The talent is still clearly there and the winning pedigree of course too. However, MVG is without a world title since 2019 and has 2 quarter-final exits and one 3rd round exits since then.
Odds of 9/2 feel about right here.
Gerwyn Price
Odds
Next up in the betting is Gerwyn Price who is a 13/2 chance to win the next PDC World Darts Championship. Those odds suggest that Gerwyn Price has a 13.3% chance of 2025 PDC World Darts Championship glory.
PDC World Championship Pedigree
Gerwyn Price does not like Alexandra Palace and he is certainly not shy about reminding people of that fact. Despite his dislike of the venue, Price did win the 2021 PDC World Darts Championship.
That win in 2021 was Price’s only final appearance at the World Championships. He only has one other semi-final appearance at the event which came in 2020.
Major Tournament Form
The Welshman struggled at the big events in 2023. He began the year with a quarter-final exit at the World Championships and made it past the quarter-finals in only one major event.
That was at the BoyleSports World Grand Prix where he was beaten 5-2 in the final by Luke Humphries.
Verdict
Price is a top player with a World Championship to his name. However, it’s hard to get excited about betting on him for this event when he is so vocal about how much he dislikes the venue.
Michael Smith
Odds
At 9/1 to win the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship is Michael Smith. Those odds imply that Michael Smith has a 10% chance of winning the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship.
PDC World Championship Pedigree
Michael Smith is a world champion thanks to his win at this event in 2023. He has two further final appearances at Alexandra Palace which came in 2019 and 2022.
Major Tournament Form
After his win at the 2023 PDC World Darts Championship, Smith hasn’t had much success in the big events with his best finish being a semi-finals appearance at the 2023 BoyleSports World Grand Prix.
Verdict
Odds of 9/1 look tempting here. Smith is as good as there is when on form and with a world title under his belt already we know that he can handle the pressure of Ally Pally.
