All Ireland Hurling Championship 2025 Favourites

Limerick – 11/8

Limerick are currently the red-hot favourites to win the 2025 All Ireland Hurling Championship with odds of 10/11 suggesting a 42.1% chance of them winning their fifth title of the last six years.

2024 Campaign

The Shannonsiders last year commenced in Division 1 Group B of the National Hurling League which they topped the initial league phase following a record of four wins and one draw to book their place into Division 1 A for 2025 and into the league semi-final which they lost in a 1-15 to 3-17 scoreline against Kilkenny,

In the 2024 Munster Championship, they advanced to the Munster Final following three wins with their sole defeat coming against Cork in Cork 3-28 to 3-26. They would triumph in the Munster Final though with a 1-26 to 1-20 win over Clare. Their All-Ireland journey ended in the semi-final losing 0-29 to 1-28 again against Cork.

2025 Campaign

This year they were mediocre in the league following two wins, 1 draw and three defeats they finished fifth avoiding relegation. In the Munster Championship, they opened in Thurles with a 2-23 to 2-23 draw against Tipperary before they won their first game 0-22 to 0-28 away to Waterford.

It’s been a mixed bag since with a strong showing to batter Cork by nineteen points 3-26 to 1-16 before losing last weekend 0-24 to 3-20 against Clare though their prior results were enough and they now have another date with Cork in a Munster Final on the 7th of June.

In another match-up between the two All-Ireland favourites, Limerick were denied the chance to win their seventh consecutive Munster Final after losing a a thriller following a 2-27 to 1-30 after extra-time draw they lost 2-3 on penalties which meant they'd have to take the backdoor route if they're to win the Liam McCarthy Cup.

Limerick will play the winner between Kildare and Dublin, for the chance to play Leinster Final winners Kilkenny in the All-Ireland semi-final stage.

2024 Campaign

The Rebels started last year in decent albeit unspectacular form with a record of three wins and two defeats meaning they missed out on a semi-final place by a sole point. Though with the format their wins came against opponents they’d have been expected to beat Wexford, Waterford and Offaly.

Their Munster Championship opened poorly following a 3-point defeat from Waterford and a 2-point loss to Clare to put their trophy aspirations in serious jeopardy. However, when they didn’t it the most they clicked into gear with a 3-28 to 3-26 win over Limerick and a 1-21 to 4-30 win over Tipperary to advance into the All-Ireland preliminary quarter-finals.

What followed was a 9-point win over Offaly and a 5-point victory against Dublin to reach another All-Ireland Final. However, Clare were their undoing again eventually losing out of another victory this time AET in a 3-29 to 1-34 scoreline.

2025 Campaign

At the beginning of 2025, they took Division 1A in the National Hurling League by storm a record of 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss meant they finished 1 point behind Tipperary, but they would meet again in the league final. This time Cork avenged their earlier defeat to Tipperary to win when it mattered 0-23 to 3-24 for a 10-point victory.

Following their league success, some saw them already as All-Ireland winners in waiting and after an opening draw away to Clare in the Munster Championship 3-21 to 2-24, they truly announced themselves with another trouncing of Tipperary this time 4-27 to -0-24 for a 15-point win.

They were set a hard reality check in their next game when Limerick led them to a merry dance losing to them by a staggering 16 points in an abject display. Had it not been for their 6-point win over Waterford they would have been out of the Championship already.

Cork looked a different team in the Munster Final and following their narrow win 2-3 win on penalties following the after extra time 2-27 to 1-30 draw. They will now face either Laois, Tipperary or Galway for a place in the All-Ireland Final.

Kilkenny  – 4/1

Third in the betting for the All-Ireland Hurling Championship is Kilkenny who are priced at 4/1 to extend their Most Titles record and win their first since 2015.

2024 Campaign

In 2024 The Cats finished second in Division 1A of the National Hurling League behind Clare with just 1 defeat from their five games. Though they reached the final after beating Limerick in a 1-15 to 3-17 game they were undone by Clare again this time 3-16 to 1-20.

In the Leinster Championship, they went unbeaten with three wins and two draws to book their place in the Leinster Final against Dublin. When that final came the result was never really in doubt with Kilkenny winning their fourth consecutive Leinster Hurling Championship battering Dublin by 19 points in a 3-28 to 1-18 game held at Croke Park.

2025 Campaign

This season their campaign started less faithfully compared to the previous season with a record of three wins and three defeats meaning they finished bang in mid-table of Division 1A in fourth place of seven sides.

Kilkenny like they always tend to be again dominant in the Leinster Championship with 4 wins with their sole defeat coming 2-19 to 1-15 against Wexford when they had already qualified for the final.

In the Leinster Final they were comfortable winners in a 3-22 to 1-20 victory to book their place in an All-Ireland in the coming weeks against either Kildare, Dublin or Limerick.

For a county which used to be so dominant, 10 years without an All-Ireland is a famine, that will end sooner rather than later but whether it’s this year or not remains to be seen!

Tipperary – 10/1

The fourth favourite for the 2025 All-Ireland Championship is Tipperary who last won the trophy in 2019.

2024 Campaign

The Premier County have gone through somewhat of a transitionary period, though in 2024 they finished second in the initial Division 1 Group B coming behind Galway they were swiftly eliminated by Clare in the semi-finals by an 8-point winning margin. Then they followed that up by failing to get out of the Munster Championship with just 1 point from 4 games.

2025 Campaign

They went even further in the 2025 league showing signs of progression initially topping Division 1A with 1 more point than Cork. However, in that they were beaten by 10 points in a 0-23 to 3-24 scoreline.

Their record of two wins, one draw and one defeat meant they now advance into a preliminary quarter-final where they will now play Joe McDonagh winners Laois before a quarter-final against Galway to decide who plays Cork at the All-Ireland semi-final stage.

Galway – 25/1

Rounding off the market leaders is Galway with odds of 25/1 who last won in 2017.

2024 Campaign

The Tribesmen come into this on the back of a season where a third-place finish in Division 1 Group B earned them promotion for the following season after three wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. However, they were then knocked out of the All-Ireland after only 5 points from their five games.

2025 Campaign

They had a solid return to Division 1A in 2025 with 3 wins and 3 defeats they managed to only finish behind Tipperary and Cork. They now have a Leinster Championship Final to look forward to against Kilkenny after a record of four wins and one loss though the latter came in Round 1 against The Cats in a 3-24 to 0-21 a 12-point defeat.

Galway were again comprehensively beaten by Kilkenny in the Leinster Final in a 3-22 to 1-20 defeat. They will get another crack in the backdoor though and will play the winners of Laois and Tipperary for the chance of an All-Ireland semi-final date with Cork.

Galway to win - 25/1
