Corach Rambler most recently returned from a 111-day break from racing, to partake in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. The horse finished a respectable third place but a significant 13 lengths behind winner Galopin Des Champs.
Verdict
The 2023 Grand National Winner is probably a worthy favourite for success but at 11/2 in a wide-open field, I’d be looking elsewhere.
I Am Maximus
Odds
The joint second favourite to win the 2024 Grand National is the Willie Mullins-trained horse I Am Maximus for JP McManus at odds of 10/1. Those odds imply that the horse has a 9.1% chance of winning the 2024 Grand National.

Rules Races | 14 | 5 | 3 | 2 |
Form
The 8-year-old I Am Maximus trained by Willie Mullins has a career record of 5 victories and 3 runner-up finishes and two third-place finishes from 14 races.
I Am Maximus most recently was a rampant winner at Fairyhouse last month (February) winning over the 3-mile 1 and ½ furlong distance coming 14 lengths ahead of runner-up Vanillier ridden by jockey J S McGarvey.
Verdict
Willie Mullins hasn’t trained a Grand National winner since Hedgehunter in 2005, and he looks long overdue a success. From the horse’s last outing, 10/1 could prove to be a snip.
Vanillier
Odds
The joint second favourite to win the 2024 Grand National is the Gavin Cromwell-trained horse Vanillier for Mrs H M Keaveney at odds of 10/1. Those odds imply that the horse has a 9.1% chance of winning the 2024 Grand National.

The horse most recently ran at Fairyhouse last February finishing 14 lengths back of winner I Am Maximus. That run means the horse has been without success since winning back in November 2021 at Punchestown.
Verdict
Vanillier finished runner-up at the Grand National last year coming 2 and ¼ lengths back of winner Corach Rambler but has been disappointing since and could be best avoided in the market.
Meetingofthewaters
Odds
Next in the betting for the 2024 Grand National is Meetingofthewaters trained by Wille Mullins. The horse can be gotten at 14/1 those odds imply the horse has a 6.7% chance of winning the 2024 Grand National.

Form
The 7-year-old Meetingofthewaters has a career record of 4 victories and 7 third place finishes from 18 races and following Cheltenham has gone back to the Willie Mullins stable
The horse most recently ran in the Ultima Handicap Chase at Cheltenham coming third and 5 and ¾ lengths back of winner Chianti Classico.
Verdict
A horse whose ability can’t be questioned but has failed to find the consistency to justify its talents. Wouldn’t be my selection for this race anyway.
Mahler Mission
Odds
Another 14/1 shot for the 2024 Grand National is Mahler Mission trained by John C McConnell. Those odds imply the horse has a 6.7% chance of winning the 2024 Grand National.

Form
The 8-year-old Mahler Mission is a consistent sort who has a career record of 4 victories, 5 runner-up finishes and 2 third-place finishes from 13 races.
The horse most recently ran at Newbury last December and finished runner-up from the field of 20 horses coming 3 and ¾ lengths back of winner Datsalrightgino. That means the horse had four races without success that came at Navan in January 2023.
Verdict
Consistent sort with each-way claims, but I wouldn’t fancy it to land the big prize come April.
